OREANDA-NEWS “The establishment of the Ukraine-EU informal working group on strategic communication will raise the efficiency of our response to hacking and disinformation campaigns from Russia not only against Ukraine, but also against all the EU countries,” President Petro Poroshenko emphasized in the joint press conference following the 19th Ukraine – EU Summit.

The Head of State informed that the participants of the Summit had paid a significant part of negotiations to the situation in Donbas and Crimea. “The parties confirmed mutual understanding of the current situation and Russia’s responsibility for that. It is obvious, that Ukraine is an object of aggression and the Russian Federation is an arrogant and cynical aggressor, not an intermediary,” the President stressed.

“I am sincerely grateful to the EU leaders for their unity and solidarity on the Russian aggression. It is a key to the restoration of peace and security in Europe,” Petro Poroshenko noted.

According to him, a vivid manifestation of this solidarity is the decision to prolong the EU’s economic sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2018. “Sanctions must remain until the elimination of the reasons of their introduction, namely until full restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Crimea,” he said.

“In general, I am very satisfied with the results of today’s Summit that has reaffirmed our unity, solidarity and willingness to move towards deeper integration of Ukraine into the EU,” the President concluded.
