OREANDA-NEWS  Almost a third of the monthly precipitation rate fell in the capital during the day. Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told RIA Novosti about the abnormal rains.

According to the meteorologist, 10 millimeters of precipitation fell on Monday, April 15. The same increase in precipitation is forecast in Moscow by the end of the week. At the same time, April is considered one of the driest months — the precipitation rate for 30 days is 37 millimeters. "It's not so little, but compared to the summer period, it's nothing special," the forecaster explained.

Earlier, Muscovites were promised cloudy weather with short-term and moderate rains until April 21. Vilfand explained this weather by the influence of cyclonic formation. The pressure will remain below normal by 10-12 millimeters of mercury. According to forecasts by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, heavy rains will take place on Thursday evening — up to 5.8 millimeters of precipitation will fall. Showers are also expected at night-on Friday morning, when the precipitation level will reach 18.9 millimeters.
