OREANDA-NEWS    Azerbaijan intends to open its land borders from June 15, which were closed for more than a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as the "Report" agency reports, citing a source in the State Customs Committee (SCC).

The direction of the State Customs Committee gave instructions to the main territorial customs departments, and preparations began for the opening of points next week.

Currently, the rules for screening passengers and cargo are being established. Passengers entering the customs checkpoint in buses will be prohibited from getting off the vehicle and going through security checks. They will be checked while in the vehicle. Passengers crossing the post on an individual basis will undergo special control.

"Currently, we are waiting for the decision of the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, and if there are no changes, the borders will open on June 15," the State Customs Committee noted.
