OREANDA-NEWSChief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar called on Israel to abandon talks with representatives of the Palestinian movement Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. His words on Monday, May 6, leads the Russian media. As Lazar noted, in the present conditions, calls for a compromise with the Palestinian faction are tantamount to calls for "negotiations with serial killers."

“Terrorists always remain terrorists, no matter how lofty they may hide behind. And the only way to stop terrorists is to outlaw them everywhere, ”the rabbi said, calling on all countries to“ unequivocally recognize any parties and groups that kill innocent people to achieve their goals ”. Lazar also recalled that when the Gaza Strip was placed under the control of the Palestinians, they got dozens of thriving settlements, which they eventually plundered and turned into a "base for terrorism". “Once they were all presented on a gold platter - the result is visible to everyone who has eyes,” the head of the Russian Jewish community emphasized.

Earlier it became known that Israel and Palestine agreed on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. Silence mode began on May 6 at 4.30 am. The next exchange of strikes between Israel and the Gaza Strip began on May 4. Initially, it was reported that the Gaza Strip launched 90 rockets towards Israel, and later the Israel Defense Forces stated that more than 450 missiles were fired across the country within 24 hours. In response, the Israeli military attacked 220 Palestinian military targets. Hamas was founded in 1987 and recognized as a terrorist organization by several countries and organizations: Israel, Canada, the United States and Japan, and also banned in Jordan and Egypt. Since 2007, the organization controls the Gaza Strip.
