OREANDA-NEWSThe Dow Jones Industrial Average rose more than 11% during trading. This was a record intraday increase for the index since 1933, according to The Wall Street Journal.

By the close of trading, the Dow Jones grew by 11.37%, stopping at around 20,704.91. Other US indices also closed in positive territory: the S&P 500 grew by 9.38% to the level of 2447.33, Nasdaq - to the level of 7417.86, adding 8.12%. Indices strengthened amid expectations of new US government measures to support the economy. As The Wall Street Journal reported, authorities will soon agree on a package of measures for the implementation of which it is planned to allocate $ 2 trillion.

Issues related to loans for industry in the amount of $ 500 billion, as well as unemployment insurance, have already been resolved, however, a narrow range of issues still needs to be agreed upon, the newspaper writes.
