OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of the year, Finland has denied entry to 818 citizens of Russia and other countries. Moreover, the number of bans has increased significantly after the start of the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, according to the Finnish broadcaster Yle, Gazeta.ru reported.

According to the newspaper, in January and February, several dozen people were unable to enter Finland. However, after February 24 their number increased significantly. In March, there were already 150 such people, and in April and May - almost 600.

Deputy Commander of the Border Guard of South-East Finland Jukka Lukkari told the publication that most of the refusals at border crossings are associated with non-compliance with the conditions of entry associated with the coronavirus restrictions. It is also noted that citizens of other countries also received refusals.

Earlier, the Ministry of Interior of Finland said that due to the pandemic coronavirus, the government of the country extended the restrictions on crossing the border.
