"Out of 19 people, we know for sure that 14 people are alive, now rescuers are lowering them. Two more people-we know where they are, we know that they are alive, now rescuers are making their way to them. There is a great hope that they will be alive, " he said.

On the evening of September 23, it became known that a group of climbers, due to the deterioration of weather conditions on Elbrus, asked for the help of rescuers. It was reported that one of the climbers injured his leg, they are at an altitude of 5,400 m. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the CBD reported that the climbers have registered their route. In total, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 19 people went to climb, four more did not climb. More than 40 rescuers and 12 pieces of equipment were involved in the search and rescue operation.
