OREANDA-NEWS   According to the Al-Jazeera TV channel, chaos reigns at the airport due to the intensity of helicopter flights, on board of which there are employees of diplomatic missions. Thousands of people are trying to leave the Islamic Republic. People broke through the barriers and tried to climb on boarding ramps to fly out of Afghanistan. Shots from automatic weapons rang out in the background.  

The airport is the last large facility in Afghanistan that remains under the control of NATO forces, its security is provided by the military of the United States, Great Britain and Turkey, TASS reports. More than 60 countries have called on the Taliban to allow people to leave the region.

An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council about the situation in Afghanistan will take place on Monday at 10:00.

In recent weeks, the Taliban have taken all major cities in Afghanistan, and on Sunday entered Kabul without a fight and took control of the presidential palace. Ashraf Ghani left the country. Taliban political office spokesman Muhammad Naim said the war in Afghanistan was over. Also, the Taliban are planning to soon announce the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
