OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Health of Belarus has canceled the requirement for mandatory wearing of masks in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. A message about this appeared in the official Telegram channel of the department.

According to the new decree, the rules of the mask regime do not apply to visits to social facilities, organizations, public transport, including the metro, as well as to train carriages, airplanes and river vessels. At the same time, according to official data, the number of cases of coronavirus in the country continues to grow. Over the past day, 2,097 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the country.

Earlier, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko demanded to stop "nightmare Belarusians" during a pandemic, to abolish fines for lack of personal protective equipment and to force citizens to vaccinate. Later, he even announced the benefits of COVID-19 in the fight against cancer and influenza.

"Covid not only at this stage crushed the flu, that is, people practically do not get the flu. But oncologists suspect that oncology has dropped significantly, not because people do not apply (they have already noticed it), but something like this is happening ... I will be glad if it’s like with the flu," the Belarusian politician said.
