OREANDA-NEWSTurkey refused to support NATO’s plan to protect the Baltic countries and Poland, as several countries of the North Atlantic Alliance blocked another document in which the Syrian Kurdish Popular Self-Defense Forces were mentioned as a force threatening Turkey’s national security. This was reported on Thursday by the Turkish newspaper, citing a diplomatic source.

"If the plan affecting Turkey has not been made public, then we will not allow any other documents to be made public. Those countries that requested us at the meeting of the NATO foreign ministers to publish the Baltic plan should show a similar understanding regarding this document", edition of the word source.

The newspaper notes that the United States was one of the states that did not support the document mentioning the People’s Self-Defense Forces. A Turkish diplomatic source also said that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is trying to resolve the situation before the alliance summit, scheduled for early December. "The Secretary-General is trying to find a common language with all parties. We informed about our readiness to consider the proposals", he added.
