OREANDA-NEWS Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has fallen ill with a coronavirus infection. This was reported by the press service of the government of the country.

"Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan passed a coronavirus test, which turned out to be positive. The Prime Minister self-isolated himself in accordance with the established procedure, the disease is asymptomatic," the press service of the Armenian government said.

It is noted that Pashinyan will work remotely.

A day earlier, Pashinyan was accused of concealing dual citizenship of the Armenian President Armen Sargsyan. Agnes Khamoyan, a deputy from the Hayastan opposition bloc, made such a statement. She recalled that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated about Sarkisyan's citizenship problem when he was an oppositionist. Khamoyan drew attention to the fact that Pashinyan stopped talking about it after he became the head of the Armenian government.

On January 24, at a press conference, Pashinyan stated that he considers it necessary to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, but it takes time to draw it up in the process of international negotiations. The Prime Minister also positively assessed Russia's peacekeeping activities on the territory of Karabakh. Pashinyan stressed that he considers the state a strategic ally of Armenia.
