OREANDA-NEWSCooperation in the RIC format (Russia, India, China) has noticeably intensified, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a trilateral meeting with leaders of countries at the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan. “I’ll note that, in accordance with the agreements reached by us at the last meeting in Buenos Aires, RIC cooperation has noticeably intensified, trilateral foreign policy coordination is expanding”, the Russian media quoted him.

The head of state recalled that a meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, China and India was held in February. It was already the 16th round of consultations, Putin noted. “At the same time, the dialogue of security councils, financial intelligence services, other sectoral departments is developing, representatives of scientific, academic, youth circles are closely cooperating”, Putin said. The Russian leader noted that working in the RIC format brings obvious benefits for solving acute international and regional problems, and also helps strengthen relations between states.

The trilateral meeting of President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping is held on the margins of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan on the first day of his work. Previous talks in this format at the highest level were held in November 2018 on the G20 fields in Buenos Aires. In the morning, the meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, took place on the fields of the G20. The talks lasted an hour and a half.

In addition, the Russian leader has already managed to meet with Teresa May and Donald Trump. Prime Minister of Great Britain told Putin on the margins of the G20 that the normalization of relations between Britain and the Russian Federation in the current situation is impossible.
