OREANDA-NEWS. G20 finance ministers predict a slight acceleration in global economic growth. Relatively modest growth rates are expected due to several factors, the main of which is the outbreak of coronavirus in China.

This was reported by Reuters agency with reference to the report that came to its disposal. The document should be presented at a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank heads in Riyadh on February 22–23.

“After signs of stabilization at the end of 2019, global economic growth is expected to pick up modestly in 2020 and 2021. The recovery is supported by the continuation of accommodative financial conditions and some signs of easing trade tensions,” the document says. Nevertheless, global economic growth remains slow and risks remain for its prospects, primarily because of the outbreak of coronavirus, geopolitical tension and political uncertainty, the report explains.
