OREANDA-NEWSThe plans for the development of the Norwegian Armed Forces have an obvious anti-Russian orientation, this issue will be raised at the negotiations of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom Ine Eriksen Søreide in Kirkenes. This is stated in the comment by the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the upcoming visit to Norway of the head of the Russian diplomatic service.

As the ministry noted, the political line of the Norwegian leadership to "pacify and contain" Russia continues to be supported by Oslo's steps in the field of military construction. "The territory of the country is increasingly being used by NATO allies. The Norwegian leadership has de facto refused obligations to not deploy foreign military units on its territory in peacetime. The number of exercises and trainings conducted closer and closer to the Russian land and sea borders is growing", Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

According to Moscow, this situation "can't but disturb". “At the talks in Kirkenes, the ministers will discuss this topic in detail. We hope that the Norwegian side will present its arguments explaining the active military preparations at the Russian borders”, the diplomatic service emphasized.
