OREANDA-NEWS Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic has said that official Belgrade will not act against Moscow because it respects and protects it, RIA Novosti reported. He noted that Serbia from the first day of the Russian operation in Ukraine "has taken a clear position and condemned the actions of the Russian Federation."

According to him, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is "a war between brothers," with whom Serbs share common roots, culture and spirituality. However, Selakovic stressed that one should not expect official Belgrade to act against Russia because Moscow respects Serbia's territorial integrity and "defends it in the UN system against attacks on this territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The day before Serbian Minister of Innovation and Technological Development Nenad Popovic stated that the shameful attempt to disrupt the dialogue between Serbia and Russia by banning the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will not spoil the friendly relations of the two countries, but on the contrary, it will strengthen them.
