OREANDA-NEWS. Local media and police report that snow avalanches descended on popular ski resorts in Austria and Switzerland. At least two people were injured. Rescuers are continuing search.

In a press release published on the Swiss police website, it is noted that at about 10:50 local time, an avalanche occurred in the ski resort of Andermatt (canton of Uri). Eyewitnesses reported that several people were buried under the snow. According to police, two of them were taken out. They got minor injuries and were hospitalized.

The radio station ORF reports that in the ski resort of Ankogel in Austria, several avalanches took place. It is noted that the message about the descent of the first avalanche was received by the rescue service at 10:00, later two more occurred. According to the journalists, helicopters were involved in search and rescue operations. About a hundred employees of specialized services arrived at the site. The ski complex was closed.
