OREANDA-NEWS. The Gateway Foundation (USA) is developing the world's first space hotel.  The space station, named after the German scientist Werner von Braun, will be able to accommodate more than 400 people. The company hopes that about 100 people will visit the hotel per week.

Designer Tim Alatoror said space will soon become just another place people will go on vacation.  In the first years, the price per room will be “sky-high,” but over time the company hopes to make prices more affordable.

Speaking about the level of estimated prices, the company recalls the cost of the flight of tourists on board Russian ships at $ 200-250 million. And they recognize that at first their hotel will be more expensive, but from time to time the price can be reduced.  The Gateway Foundation aims to make space travel open to all, project organizers say.
