OREANDA-NEWS. Algerie 24 website reports citing a source that a military airplane crashed in the northeastern part of Algeria.

The accident occurred on the evening of January 27 in the province of Oum El Bouaghi. According to the publication, the Su-30 fighter crashed. This information is also confirmed by sources of the TV channel Ennahar.

According to preliminary data, there were two pilots on board, both died. This was stated by sources of Algerie 360. It was added that the accident occurred during a planned exercise.

Officially, the information has not yet been confirmed. The causes of the crash are not reported.

Su-30MKI (A) fighters have been supplied from Russia since 2006. As of 2019, the total number of aircrafts of this type in the Algerian Air Forces was 58.
