OREANDA-NEWS Representatives of Belarus and Syria are preparing to sign a cooperation agreement. This applies to the supply of heavy construction equipment and dump trucks to Syria. Such information was reported by Ambassador Alexander Ponomarev of Belarus to the SAR.

"Interest in our products both from the Syrian business and from the ordinary people is traditionally high. Several contracts for the supply of MAZ and BelAZ equipment to Syria will be signed in the near future. Our transformers and dairy products have good prospects in the Syrian market," Ponomarev said.

The Ambassador noted that the Republic of Belarus fully participates in the Damascus international exhibition for the second year. The economic forum resumed its work in 2017. Previously, there was a six-year break from the beginning of the crisis in the country.

"Last year, six companies worked. This year there are 11 of them. Engineering, electrical, chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries are presented, " Ponomarev said.

"This year we have prepared a special surprise for the participants and visitors of the Damascus exhibition. The state academic dance ensemble of Belarus organizes a performance in Syria. The team has been professionally representing the national culture of Belarus for almost 60 years. The tour in Syria is a special milestone in cultural cooperation and in the development of bilateral Belarusian-Syrian relations. Belarusian-Syrian relations will celebrate 25 years of establishment. Spectators at the Damascus Opera and at the exhibition were able to appreciate the colorful colorful performance of our dancers, revealing the soul of the people, our folk traditions," the Ambassador added.

On Saturday, the Belarusian team gives a tour in the city of HOMS. On Sunday, the concert is scheduled in Tartus.
