OREANDA-NEWS Kiev will pay the IMF more than 1.8 billion dollars in 2019, according to the publication "Ukrainian news".

According to the schedule, the Ukrainian authorities in the current year are obliged to pay 1 325,476 million special drawing rights — conventional units of account of the International monetary Fund used in the provision of loans to the organization.

Payments, according to the publication, will begin in February, and the largest of them will be held in September.

Earlier it was reported that the external debt of Ukraine during cooperation with the IMF increased by $ 13 billion.

In 2014, the Ukrainian authorities agreed to provide a $ 17.5 billion loan under the IMF's four-year extended funding facility (EFF) assistance program. By the end of the funding programme, it was clear that the country would not be able to cope with the debt burden without continuing to work with the Fund.

On December 18, the IMF Board of governors decided to provide Ukraine with an additional preferential credit line of $ 3.9 billion under the 14-month program of financial support for SBA lending. The first 1.4 billion will be available immediately, the rest - within the framework of semi-annual reviews of the program.

To meet the requirements of the program, the Rada adopted the state budget for 2019 with a deficit of 2.3% of GDP, inflation at 7.4% and economic growth of 3%. The adoption of a balanced budget for 2019 is a condition for continued cooperation with the IMF. Also, the Board of Directors of the world Bank on December 18 announced the provision of Ukraine guarantees on loans in the amount of $ 750 million.

Ukraine in the end of 2018 received the first tranche of the loan in the amount of $ 3.9 billion, the issuance of which on the eve, December 18, approved by the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As specified in the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, a third of this amount — $ 1.4 billion —  country received until December, 25.
