Ukrainian Radicals Stormed the Verkhovna Rada

According to UNIAN, about 500 activists gathered on the square in front of the Rada. They, in particular, demanded a simplified procedure for granting Ukrainian citizenship to foreigners involved in the conflict in the Donbass on the side of Kiev, and a ban on the issuance of veterans of the ATO of Russia. The participants of the meeting held in their hands the symbols of the national corps movement and a number of other nationalist organizations.
Soon after the beginning of the action, the participants of the rally lit fire. According to" Interfax-Ukraine", after the beginning of Petro Poroshenko's speech activists tried to break through a cordon of police officers. "Participants of the action tried to break through to the building of the Verkhovna Rada. They threw a smoke bomb, then a firecracker, " the press service of the police quoted the Agency as saying.
"112 Ukraine" writes that as a result of collisions one of law enforcement officers got a leg injury from-for close rupture of a firecracker. At the same time, the press service denied the information about the injury due to the rupture of firecrackers, saying that the victim just tripped over the fence. "The protesters threw a firecracker. Nobody got hurt. When ensuring law and order, the police officer, clinging to the metal fence, injured his leg, " - said the police in Kiev.

The protesters ' discontent is connected with the decision of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to extradite to Russia a combatant in the Donbass, a Russian citizen Timur Tumgoev, accused of involvement in the banned terrorist organization "Islamic state". On September 12, the Ukrainian Department satisfied the relevant request of the FSB.
In the Verkhovna Rada on September 20 the annual message of the President of Ukraine to parliamentarians takes place. In the course of his speech, he, in particular, promised to strike out from the Constitution of Ukraine the point which gave the basis for basing the Russian fleet in Sevastopol when it was part of Ukraine.
