OREANDA-NEWS. The flags of Ukraine have been removed from public transport in Warsaw, where they were placed for more than two months as part of a solidarity action with Ukraine, a TASS correspondent reports. The reasons for this decision are not given.

From May 4, 2022, the decoration of transport with the flag of Warsaw and the flag of Ukraine is suspended, the website of the Polish capital says.

Ukrainian flags appeared on public transport in Warsaw on February 26. A few weeks ago, the Polish law firm Lega Artis drew the attention of the Warsaw authorities to the fact that the placement of the flag in this case violates the rules in force in the country, according to which the flag of a foreign state can only be displayed on a par with the flag of Poland. Similar disputes arise in connection with the placement of the Ukrainian flag on the buildings of Polish educational and government institutions.

Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian flag was lowered in front of the consulate and embassy of Ukraine in the center of Moscow, and the sign was also removed from the fence in front of the former diplomatic mission of Ukraine. It was also reported that the police detained a third-year student at Novosibirsk State University (NSU) after he hung a Ukrainian flag in the window of his room in hostel No. 7. A student of the Faculty of Information Technology was accused of violating internal rules.
