OREANDA-NEWSPresident of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he still counts on holding a new meeting in the "Norman format" at the end of April this year. During a working trip on Friday to the Poltava region, he emphasized that "he is seriously working on it".

“We are working to ensure that we have a new exchange in March”, the president said, answering the questions of local residents. “We are also working to ensure that we have a meeting in late April. I think that all this will happen. We are seriously working on this".

During the previous meeting of the Norman Four leaders (Russia, Germany, Ukraine, France) in Paris last December, an agreement was reached to meet again four months later. However, as indicated then, it was necessary to ensure a sustainable ceasefire in the Donbass, to carry out the separation of forces and assets in three new areas, to begin demining and begin to develop legislation to provide the region with special status according to the "Steinmeier formula".

However, the other day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted the inaction of the Norman Four partners in persuading Kiev to implement the agreements of the previous summit in Paris. He also pointed out that Russia does not consider it necessary to hold empty summits in this format.
