OREANDA-NEWS. The death toll in the shelling of the Azerbaijani city of Barda from the Armenian side has reached 20 people, Hikmet Hajiyev, aide to the President of Azerbaijan, said. The politician invited international human rights employees to visit the city and witness the destruction. These were innocent civilians, against whom the Armenian Armed Forces used forbidden cluster missiles Smerch, Hajiyev wrote on Twitter. Representatives of the Human Right Watch and the Amnesty International were invited to look at the crime scene, he added.

Meanwhile, according to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan, the number of death in the shelling of Barda is 19, more than 60 people were injured. Earlier it was reported about 14 dead and more than 40 wounded people. According to the agency, the blow was struck at a place of dense gathering of people, where large shopping facilities are located.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense does not confirm the statement of the Azerbaijani side about the strikes on Barda from the Armenian troops.
