"We expect an upcoming ceasefire from the upcoming talks in Moscow on Thursday," Erdogan quoted the Turkish television station as saying. In addition, the Turkish president commented on the statement by US Special Representative for Syria James Jeffrey that Washington is ready to provide ammunition to Ankara for operations in the Syrian province of Idlib. "I sent a similar request to US President Donald Trump", he stressed.

Earlier on Wednesday, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that negotiations between Russian and Turkish leaders Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, scheduled for March 5, will help to understand the causes of the Idlib crisis and come to a set of measures to end it.
