OREANDA-NEWS According to a survey by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), 52% of Russians are afraid of a nuclear war. In this case, according to 79% of respondents, almost no one will have the opportunity to survive, and 16% of respondents are sure that people will have a chance to escape in bomb shelters. 46% of respondents are not afraid of a nuclear conflict.

According to 60% of respondents, the United States poses the greatest threat associated with the use of atomic weapons. 13% of Russians surveyed fear China. Another 6% named Great Britain and Korea, 5% - NATO countries. 11% of citizens are convinced that none of the countries and organizations poses such a danger.

According to VTsIOM, 72% of Russians managed to recall real cases of the use of the atomic bomb in military conflicts. 21% of the survey participants did not recall such cases.

Only 15% of Russians know where the bomb shelter closest to their home is located. 13% of respondents are aware of its presence, but not its location. 71% of respondents do not know about the existence of bomb shelters, nor about their location.
