OREANDA-NEWS. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is convinced that his visit to Russia contributes to the comprehensive development of both countries. "A visit to Russia strengthens our union, our bilateral cooperation and contributes to the comprehensive development of our peoples. These are respectful and friendly relations that we have built over the past 20 years and for which we have now the best moment to consolidate. Long live Venezuela! Long live Russia!", Maduro wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

The Venezuelan leader arrived in Russia on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Kremlin held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the Russian leader noted that Moscow supports all the legitimate authorities of Venezuela, including the institution of the president, as well as the dialogue of Nicolas Maduro with the opposition forces. At the same time, Russian deliveries of agricultural products to Venezuela are regarded as humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, reports the Russian news agency.

Putin noted that agricultural supplies play a significant role in the growth of trade between the two countries: in recent months, it amounted to 10%. “We can consider this part of our interaction as a kind of humanitarian cooperation, since these products are directly related to the well-being of people”, the Russian president said. At the meeting, Putin also said that Russia plans to deliver 1.5 million doses of flu vaccines to Venezuela in the near future. According to him, on an ongoing basis, Russia can supply 5 million doses.

Today, September 25, Russia is negotiating Putin and Maduro. The Venezuelan leader said earlier that at a meeting with the Russian president he plans to discuss the dynamics of bilateral relations and the search for new methods to enhance interaction between Moscow and Caracas in the economic, cultural and social spheres.
