OREANDA-NEWSThe Metro distribution network will transfer its stores from round-the-clock to a schedule with a technical break in order to use night time to ship goods in the face of increased demand. This was said in a statement.

“From March 19, 2020, all Metro wholesale stores in Moscow and the Moscow Region that operate around the clock will close the doors for a nightly technical break from 00.00 to 06.00. Given the increased demand for a number of product groups, this technical break will be used to receive goods, unloading them on the trading floor, filling out shelves and preparing for sale. The company is taking this step to improve customer service during the rest of the day, "the statement said.

"Metro is closely monitoring the development of demand among its customers and increases product orders by 5 categories in demand categories, increases its logistics capacity and connects a larger number of partners for online delivery", Metro said. As the company noted, Metro will consider the possibility of returning to the round-the-clock work schedule of shopping centers depending on the development of the situation.
