OREANDA-NEWS. The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) introduced temporary restrictions on the supply of citrus fruits from China.

This was reported on December 30 by the press service of the agency. It is mentioned that the decision was made in connection with the systematic cases of the identification of dangerous quarantine objects in exported products.

The situation was discussed in the course of teleconference negotiations between representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the main customs department of China held on December 30. “When discussing the supply of citrus fruits from China to Russia, the Rosselkhoznadzor noted that the measures taken by the Chinese side to comply with Russian requirements have not proved their effectiveness,” the report says.

In connection with this, the Rosselkhoznadzor decided to introduce temporary restrictions on the supply of citrus fruits from China from January 6, 2020. They will be in force “until the Chinese side takes effective corrective measures.”
