OREANDA-NEWS. After fierce battles with armed opposition groups, the units of the Syrian government army retreated for tactical reasons from the city of Neyrab in the governorate of Idlib.

This was announced by the news portal Al-Masdar, citing a source in the regional administration. According to him, the militants stormed the defensive lines of government forces three times. The opposition troops were provided with fire support by Turkish artillery and tanks, which attacked the positions of the Syrian Armed Forces. When repulsing enemy attacks, Syrian troops destroyed over 150 fighters of the armed opposition.

Syrian military command has not yet confirmed reports of the loss of Neyrab.
