OREANDA-NEWS Ukraine is ready to purchase new unmanned aerial vehicles from Turkey. This is reported by "Bloomberg" with reference to the head of the Public Relations Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration, Fahrettin Altun.

"The volume of trade between Ukraine and Turkey increased by 59% last year, reaching $ 7.1 billion. The defense industry is one of the areas in which progress has been made in relations," Altun said.

According to the representative of the administration of the Turkish head, Kiev has already bought 12 Turkish drones from Ankara. There are plans to purchase new drones. The volume of deliveries of the devices has not yet been announced.

The communications director of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that military cooperation with Ukraine is not directed against Russia and will not be violated to please it.

Earlier it was clarified that Erdogan may soon take turns meeting with his Ukrainian and Russian counterparts Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also said that Ankara will continue to develop positive relations with Kiev. "Turkey supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and stands for a peaceful solution in Donbas in accordance with international law," the Foreign Ministry wrote.
