OREANDA-NEWS. The second hull of tanker project LMG34PT, built under the order of Svithoid Tankers AB (Sweden) at Astrakhan III Int. Shipyard, MNP Group, was towed to Estonia for fitting-out.

According to the press service of MNP Group, the length of the vessel is 79.9 m, width - 15 m, depth - 7.80 m, main engine power – 1,800 kW, maximum draught is 5.5 m, speed is 11.5 knots. Ten cargo tanks of total capacity 4,200 cubic meters are equally located starboard and larboard.

The Estonian Company SRC Laevaremondi OU is a sub-contractor: the vessels will be fitted-out at the company’s yard. Class of the vessel - DNV 1A1 tanker for oil products RO, ESP, E0, CCO, ICS, VCS2, TMON, Ground loading. The vessels will be used for year-round operation in seas of North Europe.

Tanker DWT 3,400 mt is designed for transportation of crude oil and oil products with flash point less than 60 °C. It is capable of carrying six types of cargoes in a voyage. Single-screw vessels are built under DNV supervision. It is fitted with double sides and a double bottom to prevent oil spillage in accordance with environmental requirements.

The contract for construction of six hulls project LMG34PT was signed by MNP Group and Svithoid Tankers AB. in October, 2004. The hull of the lead ship was launched in October, 2005 and after towed to Estonia for fitting-out. On September, 15, 2006, the vessel was christened in Tallinn. In April, 2006, the third hull of the project was keel-laid.

Astrakhan III International Shipyard has extensive experience in hulls construction. 20 hulls for large-capacity barges of “Europa” type, containerships, dry-cargo ships, chemical tankers as well as three two-barge trains have been built and the yard during the last 10 years.
