OREANDA-NEWS. The new EP2K passenger electric locomotive manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod was sent to Barabinsk depot (the West-Siberian Railway) for one of the most important stage of the tests on the line implementing coverage of 5,000 km.

According to the press service of Transmashholding, the EP2K-001 tests stage is monitored by the representatives of the JSC Russian Railways, OAO VELNII, and some other enterprises providing component parts. The tests are focused on the electric locomotive operational dynamics as well as durability, reliability and operational security of its assemblies and modules.

As of now, Kolomensky Zavod is assembling the second EP2K (EP2K-002) locomotive.
