OREANDA-NEWS. Board of directors of OJSC "Siberian Coal Energy Company" (SUEK) has approved the Ecological policy of the company.

According to the press-service of SUEK, obligations of the company on realization of ecological policy, rational use of natural resources, protection and restoration of favourable environment extend on all branches, subsidiary and dependent companies and are considered in relations of SUEK with domestic and foreign suppliers and buyers.

According to the Ecological policy the company confirms the obligations to plan industrial activity in view of continuous of decrease in negative influence on environment and to undertake a complex of measures for decrease and prevention of risks of negative influence on environment.

Among actions which will be realized by SUEK are: development of measures on prevention of over-permitted standard losses of coal at its extraction and processing; re-cultivation of land damaged by mining works; complex use of mine and open-pit waters; application of turnover systems of water supply and water removal; maintenance of fire safety; reduction of quantity of waste of the basic and auxiliary manufactures.

The special attention will be given to development and application of the newest technologies, allowing to minimize risks of environment, including technologies of processing and enrichment of coal for reception of high-quality sorts of fuel with improved ecological characteristics; projects of use of mine methane at its industrial recycling as fuel for reception of various kinds of energy will be developed.

The company is going to develop and introduce ecological management systems according to requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2004.
