OREANDA-NEWS. Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, Nizhni Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), has won the "Partner of Russian Railways" prize in "The Best Consigner Company" category, the press service of OMK reported.
 
The annual "Partner of Russian Railways" prize, awarded in ten categories, was instituted for the development of partnership of Russian Railways with industrial and transport companies.

Vyksa Steel Works is the largest consignor in the Nizhni Novgorod Region. From year to year, VSW increases its production and delivery of pipes, railroad wheels, and other metal products.

To enhance the efficiency of its cooperation with Russian Railways for delivery of its products for the pipeline projects implemented by Gazprom, Transneft, and oil companies, VSW is modernizing its own railroad infrastructure.

After upgrading, Railroad Station No. 1 and Vyksa Trubnaya Station complete with approach lines were commissioned in October 2006. In 2007, three more stations of the eight stations of the VSW Rail Workshop are to be reconstructed. OMK's project for the development of the VSW railroad infrastructure provides for a total of 800 million rubles of investments.
