OREANDA-NEWS. The new project deigned by the Volgo-Caspian Design Bureau, MNP Group, was approved by the Germanischer Lloyd. Germanischer Lloyd Register classified the documents of chemical tanker project 4450.

According to the press service of MNP Group, tanker project 4450 is a sea-going ice-reinforced vessel. The design was worked out by the Volgo-Caspian Design Bureau for class 100A5 E2 ESP NAV-O RSD ERS BWM Chemical Tanker (Type 2) / Oil Tanker Environmental Passport MC E2 AUT INERT of Germanischer Lloyd (GL). Navigation area is 250 miles offshore in winter and without restrictions in summer.

Basic characteristics of the tanker: deadweight is 4,500 mt, maximum length – 91,9 m, breadth – 16 m, depth – 7,8 m, draught – 5,7 m. The vessel is capable of carrying up to 14 types of cargoes in a voyage, including crude oil, oil products, vegetable oil and tallow oil as well as chemical cargoes IMO Type 2.

Speed of the vessel at 85% use of SPP is 11,5 knots at loaded draught 5,75 m, and 12,5 knots at ballast draught 4,05 m. Sea endurance - 20 days.

Corrosion-resistant coating MarineLain, worked out by Advanced Polymer Coating L.T.D will be used in the vessels. The coating allows transporting aggressive liquid goods – acids, alkali, etc. Volgo-Caspian Design Bureau is a highly professional design bureau, engaged in design of river-, sea-, and river-and-sea-going dry-cargo ships, tankers and chemical tankers. The designs are worked out for classes of the Russian River Register of Shipping, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, as well as for classes of Germanischer Lloyd (GL) и Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The design bureau employs 100 specialists, 80 of them are designers. Nupas Cadmatic automatic design system is applied at the bureau.
