OREANDA-NEWS.  According to the preliminary data, in January-November of this year the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine have reduced import of iron ore raw material by 15 % - up to 1 million 831,9 thousand tons in comparison with analogous period of the last year.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, it was mentioned in the association of mining enterprises of Ukraine “Ukrrudprom” (Dnepropetrovsk region) that import of iron ore concentrate from the Russian Federation for 11 months has decreased by 5,3 % to 1 million 108,9 thousand tons, sintering ore - by 10,8 % to 648,9 thousand tons, pellets – by 68,8 % to 74,1 thousand tons.

At the same time, Ukraine did not import agglomerate in 2006, whereas for 11 months of 2005 this parameter made 19,4 thousand tons.

In November, Ukraine imported 217,4 thousand tons of iron ore raw material, including 126,9 thousand tons of concentrate, 80,5 thousand tons of sintering ore and 10 thousand tons of pellets.

Import of iron ore raw material in January-November 2006 was reduced almost by all metallurgical enterprises of the country, except for Mariupol Metal Works after Ilyich, which has increased import of iron ore raw material by 28,4 % - up to 1,406 million tons in comparison with analogous period of 2005, including increased import of concentrate by 1,3 % - up to 1 million 108,9 thousand tons, and also 232 thousand tons of sintering ore and 65,1 thousand tons of pellets. In the last year Mariupol Metal Works after Ilyich did not import this production.

Yenakievski Metal Works for 11 months has imported 4 million 161,9 thousand tons of sintering ore, “Zaporozhstal” - 9 thousand tons of pellets.
