OREANDA-NEWS. The International Iron & Steel Institute published the data according to which the world crude steel production in January-November 2006 has made 1 billion 112 million 553 thousand tons that exceeded parameters of January-November 2005 by 8,9 %.

In Asia crude steel production has made 589 million 201 thousand tons (12,5 %). In China production output made 381 million 539 thousand tons (18,4 %). Japan made 106 million 171 thousand tons (2,7 %), in South Korea - 44 million 118 thousand tons (0,9 %), in India - 38 million 837 thousand tons (4,1 %), in Taiwan - 18 million 535 thousand tons (8,6 %).

Crude steel production in 25 EU countries in January-November 2006 made 182 million 708 thousand tons (5,9 %). In Germany production made 43 million 377 thousand tons (5,8 %), in Italy - 29 million 133 thousand tons (7,4 %), in France - 18 million 328 thousand tons (2,6 %), in Spain - 17 million 223 thousand tons (3,1 %), in the Great Britain - 12 million 799 thousand tons (5,3 %), in Belgium - 10 million 633 thousand tons (10,7 %).

In the CIS countries, crude steel output made 109 million 125 thousand tons (6 %). Russia made 64 million 475 thousand tons (7 %), Ukraine - 37 million 279 thousand tons (6,1 %).

In Northern America production output totalled 122 million 192 thousand tons of steel (5,7 %). In the USA production made 91 million 489 thousand tons (7 %), in Mexico - 14 million 866 thousand tons (-0,1 %).

South America made 41 million 753 thousand tons (0,7 %). Brazil made 28 million 264 thousand tons (-2,4 %).

Africa produced 15 million 459 thousand tons of steel (-3,5 %). In the Near East crude steel output made 13 million 523 thousand tons (0,9 %).
