OREANDA-NEWS. According to the operative data, in 2006, the coal-mining enterprises of Ukraine have increased coal mining by 2,8 %, or by 2,22 million tons - up to 80,257 million tons in comparison with 2005.

According to the Interfax-Ukraine referring to the Ministry of Coal Industry, extraction of coked coal in the last year reduced by 8,2 %, or by 2,687 million tons to 30,145 million tons, whereas power coal mining increased by 10,9 %, or by 4,906 million tons up to 50,112 million tons.

In 2006 the coal-mining enterprises have exceeded the planned target established by the Ministry of Coal Mining by 8,4 %, or by 6,236 million tons. 8 associations and 14 independent mines have exceeded the planned target by 13,312 million tons, whereas 16 enterprises and 16 more mines have under-fulfilled the task by 7,076 million tons.

The coal mining in Ukraine in 2005 has reduced by 2,6 %, or by 2,115 million tons to 78,037 million tons in comparison with 2004. The extracting enterprises have reduced extraction of coked coal by 7 %, or by 2,462 million to 32,832 million tons for the year before last, having increased power coal mining by 0,8%, or by 347,8 thousand tons up to 45,206 million tons.
