Ural Mining and Smelting Company invested more than 320 million RUR in the ecological projects of the “Uralelectromed”.
OREANDA-NEWS. In 2006 Ural Mining and Smelting Company sent more than 320 million RUR for the realization of the ecological programs of JSC “Uralelectromed” (the company of the UMSC’s metallurgical complex).

According to the UMSC press-cutting service, the completion of the works on the first starting complex of gas purifying facilities of the chemical and metallurgical workshop of the “Uralelectromed”. The investments made up more than 80 million RUR.

Nowadays the company is building the second and the third starting complexes. The gas-purifying facility at the chemical and metallurgical workshop, which is being built instead of the old one, will provide with the maximum (up to 99.5%) effect of the effluent gas purifying out of the smelting furnaces. The total cost of the project is more than 210 million RUR.

“Uralelectromed” is also organizing the ecological events in the affiliates. For example, the water economy upgrade program is being executed at the productions of the polymetals. It is aimed at cutting down the drainage system consumption and also water consumption. Within the following program in 2006, around 15 million RUR was spent on accomplishing the different events, they are going to increase the financing this year.

The reconstruction of the gas-purifying constructions was finished last year at the Production of nonferrous metal alloys (PNMA), it was done in the context of the lead production reconstruction. The 99.98% purifying of the effluent gases will be provided as a result to the growing production volumes. The “Uralelectromed” is planning to accomplish the lead production reconstruction at the PNMA in 2007.
