OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC “Power Machines” has successfully completed the 72-hour continuous testing and put into commercial operation the third 250 MW unit for Tehri HPP, the press service of the company informed.

As it was reported earlier, in September 2006 OJSC “Power Machines” commissioned the first 250 MW unit and in November 2006 – the second unit for Tehri HPP, which are currently operating without failure.

In total OJSC “Power Machines” supplied for Teri HPP four 250 MW hydraulic units (turbine runner  diameter 4.1 m and rotation speed 214.3  rpm) as well as spherical and butterfly valves  and  auxiliary equipment.

OJSC “Power Machines” carries our supervision of erection of the hydraulic units and auxiliary equipment   performed by BHEL, India.

The commissioning of the fourth unit is expected in the coming two months.

The equipment supply and services contract was signed in 1997 and delivery of equipment was completed in 2003. The Indian project Customer - the State Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Ltd. is a joint venture of the Indian State Government and the Government of the State of Uttar Pradesh.
