OREANDA-NEWS. The major repairs of the lime oven № 5, daily producing 200 tons of lime, have been completed at the Western-Siberian metallurgical industrial complex (WSMIC), being part of the “EurazHolding”.

According to the WSMIC’s press-cut service, while doing the major repairs they changed the old fireproof laying in the calcining zone and partly changed the laying in the heating zone. The inspection of the main power and electric equipment has been done, the mechanisms of the lime loading and unloading has been fixed. Besides that, the old air-gas projective devices have been changed into joist projectors with the upgraded water cooling system. The similar equipment has been installed on seven lime ovens out of twelve. The exploitation has showed that the new equipment works twice as longer than the projectors of the old type. The major repairs have been done by the contracting organizations such as limited (liability) company “Zapsibremont” and limited (liability) company “Zapsibenergoremont”.

The renewed lime oven № 5 has been reserved now. It will start working in Fall –Winter of 2007, by this time the major repairs, that will be done throughout May – September period, of the blast furnace № 1 will have been completed. The blast furnace workshop of the JSC “WSMIC” will start operating then and the additional volume of the lime for the steel-smelting production will also be needed. The amount of the major repairs done will provide the stable functioning of the lime oven and the nonstop operating of the industrial complex in the future.
