OREANDA-NEWS. Late in February 2007, the Bryansk Engineering Plant delivered to the customer, namely Amursky Sudostroitelny Zavod, a 7,900 kW (10, 744 h.p.) DB72 marine diesel (5S50MS by MAN B&W classifier).

According to the press service of “Transmashholding”, among those present at the delivery trial were: a representative of the German classification society Germanischer Lloyd, an engineer and inspector of the Amursky Sudostroitelny Zavod and a technical observer of the Hansetik company, the diesel customer.

The DB72 marine diesel has a number of features. It comprises five cylinders (the ordinary number of them is six and above), which cuts down the preventive works. The diesel is efficient, environment friendly and has law emission level.

The DB72 delivered to the customer is the second to have been manufactured by the Bryansk Engineering Plant. BMZ will have manufactured another 10 marine diesels by the close of 2007, two of them will be also delivered to the Amursky Sudostroitelny Zavod.

BMZ manufactures diesels under the MAN B&W company license.
