OREANDA-NEWS. CJSC Transmashholding has sent in advance a total of 10 metro cars designated 8181-714/717.5B (four of them are 81-717.5B head and six 81-714.5B intermediate cars) manufactured by the JSC Metrowagonmash (MWM, a holding-integrated company) to the Baku metro (the city of Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan) on April 27, 2007.

According to the press service of Transmashholding, it was the first delivery under the contract implementing the production of 25 rail cars concluded in late November, 2006. The rest of 15 metro cars will be delivered to Baku this October.

It is noteworthy that MWM has been dealing with the Baku metro for over 30 years now. The latest delivery of metro cars from Mitishi took place in 2004. Azerbaijan received 25 cars then. The Baku metro exploitation fleet comprises some 200 metro cars produced by Metrowagonmash (75 per cent of the Baku metro car fleet).
