OREANDA-NEWS. The International Iron and Steel Institute has reported the data according to which the world production of crude steel in April 2007 has made 109 million 312 thousand tons that exceeded parameters of April 2006 at the rate of 101 million 604 thousand tons by 7,6 %.

Crude steel production in Asia made 59 million 767 thousand tons (12,7 %), in China - 40 million 318 thousand tons (16,5 %), in Japan - 9 million 740 thousand tons (4,1 %).

In 27 EU countries crude steel production in April 2007 has made 18 million 481 thousand tons (3,5 %).

CIS countries produced 10 million 464 thousand tons of steel (4,8 %).

In Northern America production made 10 million 483 thousand tons of steel (-6,2 %). While in the USA crude steel output has made approximately 7 million 950 thousand tons (-6,6 %).

South America made 3 million 986 thousand tons (9,2 %).

Africa production 1 million 522 thousand tons of steel (-0,3 %).

In the Near East crude steel output made 1 million 289 thousand tons (-1,1 %).
