OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2016. Kate Hudson was honored with the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA's “Kaleidoscope Award.”

The Children’s Discovery and Innovation Institute at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA raised a record-breaking \\$3.5 million this past weekend to support pediatric research.

Actress Kate Hudson was honored with the hospital’s “Kaleidoscope Award,” which was presented by reality television stars Erin and Sara Foster of VHI’s “Barely Famous.”

Additional honorees included Lori and Michael Milken who received the hospital’s highest honor, The Philanthropic Leadership Award. Fifteen-year-old Jake Schuster, a UCLA patient, received the Extraordinary Children’s Award presented by WWE Superstar Eva Marie.

Billy Bush of Access Hollywood hosted the event attended by 650 guests. Music was provided by DJ Michelle Pesce, Angelina Jordan, Shawn Hook, and Orianthi and Richie Sambora with their guest Randy Jackson and special guest DJ Ryan Cabrera.

The Cirque pour la Recherche or “Circus for Research” themed event also featured a silent and live auction that included once-in-a-lifetime items and experiences.

The gifts are part of the Centennial Campaign for UCLA, a \\$4.2 billon fundraising drive scheduled to conclude in 2019, the university’s 100th anniversary.
