OREANDA-NEWS. "GAZ Group" by the results of four months of 2016 sold in Russia 14 664 light commercial vehicles, which is more by 10% than in the same period of the last year. As a result, the share of "GAZ" in the Russian market of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles was 3.3% against 2.6% a year before, according to AEB data.

As the press service of "GAZ Group" informed the agency "AUTOSTAT", sales drivers became this year all-metal van "Gazelle the Next" and its modifications, the bus frame, as well as on-board modifications "Gazelle the Next" with the engine EvoTech LPG. "As consumers accumulate the operating experience of Next family vehicles, they are gaining popularity because they have a serious gap between the price of foreign competitors with better functionality and a comparable level of comfort and reliability", - noted in the press-service of "GAZ Group". The main competitors in the segment mono drive LCV is considered by the company such brands as Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Volkswagen, in the segment of all-wheel drive LCV - UAZ.

With regard to further update of the model range of light commercial vehicles "GAZ", it will appear already in June a modification of the all-metal van "Gazel Next" with an average base. Recall, since April of this year there were began sales of model with long wheelbase and a maximum capacity of 13.5 m3 body. Then, in the 3rd quarter of 2016 it will start sales of minivans on the basis of an all-metal wagon, as well as different options of specialized equipment (refrigerators, mobile shops, etc.).
