OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2007. The exercise was part of the preparations for the annual complex emergency response training.

The objective of the exercise was to improve the practical skills of the managers and chief experts of the plant. The exercise was commanded by the director of Volgodonsk NPP Alexander Palamarchuk.

It was the first time ever that a full-scale simulator was used at a Rosenergoatom exercise. All possible emergency situations were modeled and displayed on monitors real time for the commanders to be able to control and assess the actions of the trainees and the state of the equipment.   
 
Representatives of the Crisis Center of Rosenergoatom Concern, Nuclear Safety Institute, Typhoon SIA, Hydropress EDB, Kurchatov Institute, VNIIAES, Novovoronezh Emergency Center took part in the exercise as consultants and observers. The participants exchanged information through modern communication systems.

Such events keep specialists in shape and help them to improve their skills.

As was reported earlier, the probability of serious emergency at the Russian NPPs is 1 to 10,000,000.
