OREANDA-NEWS. December 20, 2007. An American delegation led by the head of the Environment, Science and Technology Section of the US Embassy in Moscow Colin Cleary and Director General of the Moscow Office of the US Department of Energy Mark Whitney visited Angarsk Electrolytic Chemical Combine on Dec 18–20. The managers of AECC told the guests about the plant and its activities. The delegates were especially interested in AECC’s international contracts, automated chemical and radiation control system and its on-line analogue and tax payments.

The guests visited the Information Center of Rosatom and the Museum of AECC. They liked the museum very much and pointed out that it provided a very comprehensive picture of AECC’s history.

The US delegates also visited the Central Laboratory and the Separation Plant.

Special attention was given to the project to establish an international uranium enrichment center in Angarsk. The guests wanted to know if AECC had sufficient capacities and production basis for hosting an international center.

The US delegates pointed out that AECC was a well-organized and efficient plant and thanked the hosts for their hospitality and openness.
