OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2007. The international European Standard prize is awarded to national and trans-European manufacturers and brands that maintain priority of Europe as the largest “locomotive” of the world economy. It is a kind of European certificate of quality.

The awarding ceremony took place in Strasbourg in late 2007. 15 Russian companies were granted awards for high quality by an international jury comprising experts from Germany, France, Russia and Switzerland.

The European Standard program has been launched on the initiative of the business communities of Germany, France, Switzerland and Russia and is carried out by the Institute for European Integration (IEI). Each year IEI experts examine the economic activities of business entities in Russia and the companies best complying with the standards of the European community are awarded the prize.

The expert program in Russia involves companies actively introducing and developing European standards of technology, management and quality. The key evaluation criteria are compliance with the modern international quality management standards, effective introduction of innovative technologies, experience of practical cooperation with foreign companies, export or other foreign economic activity, real prospects for entering European markets, European style of management.
